The Breed
Dog breed history beyond the registries.
Breed descriptions repeat a lot of claims. Registries print them, Wikipedia cites them, and breed sites copy both. Beyond The Breed names those claims, says who makes them, and sets them against the record: original standards, kennel club records, field accounts, genetics papers, and the journal of the Primitive and Aboriginal Dog Society (PADS).
Every story lists its sources.
The claim
"White survivors of Nansen's Fram expedition founded the breed."
Wikipedia, Nenets Herding Laika (citation needed)
The record
None of the 28 dogs that went north with Nansen survived.
Sabarka and Musti were already in England.
